AFTER

Real clinical photographs authorised by the patient. Her identity and the previous health issue associated with erosion are not disclosed.

CLINICAL SITUATION

Wear, sensitivity and a smile that no longer felt like her own.

The patient presented with severe erosive wear associated with a previous health issue. Intense sensitivity was her main reason for seeking care, alongside the effect of her smile on her self-confidence.

PRESERVATION DECISION

Avoid removing more tooth structure in an already worn dentition.

The case was planned additively. No tooth reduction was performed to create space for the restorations.

RESTORATIVE TREATMENT

Twelve upper. Twelve lower. Layered ceramic.

Twenty-four layered lithium-disilicate veneers were placed: 12 upper and 12 lower. The complete treatment took three weeks.

TISSUES AND PROPORTION

Ceramics were only one part of the case.

Laser gingivectomy, crown lengthening and ostectomy were also performed to restore clinical proportions and integrate the gum architecture into the restorative plan.

FOLLOW-UP

Sensitivity resolved over time.

According to the patient’s follow-up account, sensitivity gradually disappeared. This individual outcome is not a promise of the same response for another patient.

INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT

Preservation means doing only what the case needs.

Whether no-prep veneers are appropriate depends on tooth position and volume, available enamel, bite, gums and the patient’s objectives.Request an assessment
