1980 · The family workshop
Carlos grew up among dental technicians, plaster models, brushes and furnaces. His mother was a dental technician. The family craft shaped his understanding of ceramics long before his own clinical career.

2001 · A question in Barcelona
After qualifying in dentistry in 2001, Carlos began clinical practice in Barcelona. He wanted to explore how to create brighter smiles while preserving healthy tooth structure.

The search · Persistence opened a door
He discovered Lumineers and contacted the company repeatedly. As he recalls, dozens of emails eventually led to a conversation and an opportunity to train in Birmingham.

2008 · Barcelona to Birmingham
His Lumineers training marked a turning point. He began coordinating cases through the United Kingdom with production in the United States. He remembers it as the journey of his lifetime.

Patients began travelling too
The Barcelona practice attracted patients from other cities. GQ and BellezaPura reported on Carlos Saiz and Lumineers in 2011, documenting that stage of the story.

Learning continued
Lumineers was a starting point. Work with newer ceramics, including lithium disilicate, and individual design shifted the focus from a single system to the right decision for each patient.
